Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data devs.ch processes, under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). The controller is:

1. Visitors
Browsing jobs needs no account. Our servers keep technical logs (IP address, pages visited, browser) for security and to fix errors, for up to 14 days. We use no analytics, advertising or tracking: no third-party script runs on the job pages, and company logos are served by devs.ch itself.
To show employers how their posts are doing, we count, per job and per day, how many times its page is viewed and its “Apply” link followed. Only these two numbers are kept: no cookie, no IP address, nothing that tells who you are. Robots aren’t counted.
Cookies: a session cookie, only when you log in or fill in a form (it protects the form against forgery), and, if you tick “Stay logged in”, a cookie that keeps you logged in for 30 days. Neither is used for anything else.
When you apply, you leave devs.ch for the employer’s page or e-mail: we never see your application.
2. Job alerts
If you ask for a job alert, we keep your e-mail address, the search you chose and the dates it was confirmed and last sent, only to e-mail you new jobs for that search once a week. Nothing is sent until you confirm the address from the e-mail we send; an alert not confirmed within a week is deleted. Every alert e-mail has a link to stop it, which deletes the alert at once. No account is created, and the address isn't used for anything else.
3. Employers
- Account: your name, e-mail and password (stored as a hash only), to let you manage your posts.
- Company and posts: the company’s name, website and description, and what you write in your posts, are public while a post is online.
- Payments: made with Stripe, which processes your card details and the billing details you enter (name, address, and the company’s VAT number if you give it) to issue the invoice. We keep the amount, date, plan and Stripe’s payment reference for 10 years, as Swiss accounting law requires (art. 958f CO); we never see your card number.
- E-mails: we write to you to confirm your address, to send a link when you forget your password, when a post goes online and when it expires.
You can delete your account from “My account”: your name, e-mail and posts are deleted; the payments are kept, anonymised.
4. Protection against abuse
The sign-up, password and job alert forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which may check your browser to tell people from bots, and the number of attempts per IP address is limited for a short time.
5. Providers
We share data only with the providers that run the site for us: DigitalOcean (hosting, Germany), Cloudflare (delivery, protection and Turnstile), Stripe (payments and invoices) and Postmark (e-mail). Some are in the USA; they are bound by data processing agreements with standard contractual clauses or the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework.
6. Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your data at [email protected], and complain to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
